From 16 – 18 November, the doors to the 2018 edition of Affordable Art Fair Singapore will be open to the art-loving public of Singapore. Top tips for Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2018

Hello! I’m so excited to welcome you to this years fair, we have been working hard to plan a programme packed from top-to-toe with more art and creative activities than ever before!

To help you plan your visit and make sure you get the most out of the arty-event-of-the-year, I’ve created a handy check-list of the top features at the fair.

ART, ART AND MORE ART

We have 80 galleries representing over 600 artists from around the world – all awaiting to greet you at the fair. Don’t forget to take photos of your favourites (with artwork caption details!) to remind you of the pieces that have turned your head. JOIN US FOR A PARTY TO REMEMBER

Why not have a creative night out whilst contributing to a good cause – join us for the Arty-Licious Evening in association with Harpers’ BAZAAR. During the event, Lion’s Pride, founded by Diana Francis and Marieke de Zeeuw will be supporting our charity partner President’s Challenge, by hosting creative workshops exploring the ability of art to have a positive impact on mental wellbeing. We will also have an arty talk from Art Therapist, Norhashimah Kamarudin from the Ain Society, who will explain the fantastic benefits of this creative therapy. And of course, with every party, it is compulsory to have live music and live artist demonstrations and something delicious in hand – so get your tickets now for a fun and art-filled night out!

ART-IVITIES FOR ALL AGES

Get inspired plus let your little ones’ express their creativity at the fair – register now for a talk, a tour, or to get arty in one of our workshops in the Creative Hub! While the kids are having fun in the Art Wonderland Children’s Art Studio, you can learn more about art therapy, silkscreen printing and landscapes paintings in one of our talks and workshops, or you could join me, your fabulous Fair Director as I guide you on a whirlwind tour of my top artwork picks of the fair! YOUNG TALENT 2018/19 EXHIBITION

Presented by ION Art with support from Hotel Jen, the Young Talent Programme 2018/19 exhibition showcases eight talented young artists and their exciting works. Following an exciting public vote three of the selected artists will go on to have solo exhibitions at ION Art Gallery and Hotel Jen. Read our dedicated blog to meet the artists and cast your vote to support your favourite, PLUS be in with a chance to win a staycation!

#SPOTLIGHT UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT

Check out our curated collection of fresh new artists from countries including India, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand – all brand new to Affordable Art Fair Singapore! Be dazzled by the wide range of mediums and styles whose works would be marvelous additions to your walls!

ENGAGE WITH OUR LARGE-SCALE INSTALLATIONS

In addition to the huge variety of artwork on display, keep your eye out for the exciting installations throughout the fair. Snap a selfie and engage with our special projects from Monopoly inspired commentary to beautiful but challenging sculptural ceramics. Brought to you by Dean Zeus Colman, “Artopoly” is an art-world parody version of the well-known board game; South Korean artist Cha Jaeyoung has been commissioned by our Official Beer partner Peroni to create an installation using her signature material, ribbons, to create an installation titled ‘Journey #Peroni’ that conveys friendship and collaboration; artist Luo Dan from Asian Art Platform will bring a series of sculptures to portray the beauty of the female body; while James Seet from Art Front Collective will present a series of hand-sculpted ceramic portraits.

TANTILISE YOUR TASTEBUDS

After satisfying your artistic appetite, rest and reflect in the comfort of our Gastro Park. We have partnered with We Are AFK, to bring you four specialty food options from Hustle Co., Shiso, Rakki and 21 Sliders, who will transform fresh ingredients into tasty dishes to fill your stomach. Good art and great beverages are the perfect marriage, so do visit the Sarnies café, Ruinart Champagne Bar and Peroni Art Bar to imbibe your favourite drink!
