In October 2024, Affordable Art Fair Amsterdam will be back at De Kromhouthal for its 18th edition. Treat yourself to an artistic adventure with 1000s of contemporary artworks from over 65 Dutch and international galleries. In collaboration with @44309gallery , @topic_tomislav has been invited to create a striking installation, which will hang from the ceiling of @dekromhouthal π₯β

The artist Tomislav Topic has created a stylistically unique and unmistakable body of work throughout his career. As part of the artist duo Quintessenz and as a solo artist, he has realized numerous installations and murals in public spaces worldwide. β Tomislav is known for his colourful, site-specific art installations, in which he adeptly reduces his work to focus on colour and form.β

@beasarrias ` entire body of work is developed through painting, using a realistic technique that takes its main references from American realism of the 20th century. She is particularly interested in the modernity of conceptual terms and pays close attention to the careful handling of perspective, light, color, and a clean brushwork. This is clearly evident in her work, which is inspired by the works of Spanish and international architects including José Antonio Coderch, Antonio Bonet Castellana, Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier.β

All of her paintings are a continuation of her previous work, with the common underlying theme being the use of architecture as a tool to express light.β

For the sculptor @annecarnein , the growth process of plants is at the centerβ of her work. In her endeavor to bring body and environment back into resonance, the artist anchors her individual creative process in her own body.β From worn clothing and thread, she creates plant objects that come very close to reality. Out of the archetypal longing to let something grow, Anne Carnein lets the growth and decay of plants become tangible in her time-consuming manufacturing process. Sebiha Demir creates sculptures of animals out of an unconventional material, .22 bullet shells used in police training. This choice of material strengthens the idea that she aims to send with her work. Demir is inspired by the growing threat of human behaviour to exotic animals and the ambiguous relationship between human and animal. The playful postures and glowing, almost fuzzy, surfaces of the gorillas, elephants, panthers, penguins and bears, give them a pet-like, cuddly quality. This intensifies the contrast between the initial appearance of the sculpture and the seriousness of Sebiha`s message. β
