In loving memory of Mr. Lim Tze Peng, Singapore’s oldest living artist, who has recently passed away at the age of 103.
Lim Tze Peng was a master of Chinese ink and calligraphy, dedicated to preserving and uplifting Singapore`s heritage through his art. His passion for painting continued well into his later years, making him an inspirational figure to artists and art lovers alike.
His legacy will live on through his works, and we are deeply grateful to have shared the soulful touch of his paintings over the years at Affordable Art Fair Singapore. Last year, we had the honour of featuring him as one of our #SPOTLIGHT artists in our 15th anniversary showcase.
Rest in peace, Lim Tze Peng. Your art and spirit will forever be cherished.

Introducing the mysterious world of uncanny art 🌟
Uncanny art can blur the line between reality and fantasy, evoking both fascination and unease. Drawing from the impact of surrealism and abject art, we’ve explored how artists have tapped into the uncanny to challenge perceptions and capture the rather unsettling beauty of the unknown.
From surreal landscapes to abstract portraits, discover artworks that blur the lines and provoke thought in our latest Inspiration article.

This #artoftheweek is ‘The Dance’ by CHIMP 🐙
CHIMP’s style is unique in his focus on experimentation with different techniques and colours.
As an experienced street artist, his artworks primarily feature spray paint, but this piece also follows an airbrushing technique, adding a higher, more dramatic level of realism to the artwork.

And last but not least in our mini-series is tip #4: Invest in Framing 🖼️
Proper framing can significantly enhance the appearance of your artwork and protect it for years to come. Here’s why investing in good framing is essential:
✨ A quality frame provides a protective barrier against dust, moisture, and physical damage, ensuring your artwork stays in tip top condition!
✨ The right frame can complement the artwork, adding depth and making it stand out even more in your space.
✨ Custom framing allows you to choose styles and materials that reflect your personal taste and complement your home décor.
So when you invest in a new piece of art, don’t overlook the importance of a good frame. It’s an investment in the longevity and beauty of your collection.
Our #artworkoftheweek is ‘1950’s Red Car Sticking out of the Side of Skyscraper’ by Philip Toledano 🚗
A photographer by trade, Philip usually specialises in reality-based documentary work. However, this piece is part of his new, realistic-looking dystopian visions of new worlds. He uses AI to reimagine dystopian scenes in his latest body of work titled ‘Another America’. They’re striking and often feature uncomfortable images evoking the past while representing visions of the future.
