Affordable Art Fair, Battersea Autumn returns this October with an exciting programme of over 110 galleries and a rich spectrum of artistic talent. We have eight new exhibitors joining us this year, whose diverse artworks you won’t want to miss.
From striking photographs, colourful paintings by Aboriginal artists and intricate Japanese prints to established printmakers favoured by A-list collectors, our new exhibitors will present a dazzling array of artworks to choose from at our autumn edition.
We are so excited for the UK’s very first Aboriginal-owned gallery, Coe Gallery to be joining our fair. Based in Bristol, Coe Gallery champions the beauty of Aboriginal art and culture with a showcase of emotive, colourful and detailed artworks by award-winning artists.
Highlights at their stand include recent works by Wiradjuri-British artist and gallery curator Jasmine Coe, along with the beautiful rhythmic paintings by the highly renowned Utopian artist Barbara Weir. Barbara’s paintings reflect on themes of identity, memory and displacement from a profoundly personal perspective. Head to Coe Gallery at stand L4 to experience incredible Aboriginal art that celebrates one of the oldest continuous cultures on earth.
Presenting the freshest talent from the capital and beyond, two new galleries are joining us from our local bustling art hub: London.
Art Friend in Shoreditch champions independent artists and a down-to-earth, accessible approach to the market. If you’re a fan of colour, tropical themes and big cats, you shouldn’t miss out on Adam Bartlett’s stunning new works at their stand, L4. For an esteemed addition to any art collection, also look out for Craig Keenan’s stunning cyanotypes. Craig is an established artist whose collectors include Trevor Nelson and Graham Norton. He has exhibited his work alongside Damien Hirst, The Connor Brothers, Quentin Blake and recently collaborated with Leee Black Childers to produce images of Andy Warhol and David Bowie.
S & P gallery specialise in fine art photography. Find them at stand C9 for inspiring artworks with powerful human stories. Natalie Lennard’s award-winning fictional narrative series explores childbirth practices from ancient times to modern day, inspired by her own tragic experience with miscarriage. Whilst African American self-taught photographer Gregory Prescott’s arresting and editorially inspired portraits feature captivating subjects of diverse race, gender, sexuality, body, skin, and hair types, with the aim to present more diversity in fine art photography.
Visiting us from Paris’s historic Montmartre neighbourhood, FOLLOW 13 has unwavering trust in the power of 13. On the 13th of each month, the gallery presents 13 new artworks by an artist, focused on contemporary painting, photography and drawing.
From their lineup for this year’s Battersea Autumn fair, we are especially taken with the textural works of Anne Gaiss, who applies shimmering silver leaves onto paper and canvas. These beautifully detailed, intricate works are a must-see, at stand A9.
We are delighted to welcome three new East Asian galleries to our international line-up.
Bringing the best from East and West, Arta from Hong Kong will showcase an amazing international roster of artists at this year’s fair, combining traditional techniques and mediums with cutting-edge contemporary ideas. Look out for the intricate ink maps of Erik Fok, the contemplative cityscapes of Andrea Björsell, the sublime mythological figures of Ricardo Rodriguez and the poetic abstract paintings of Ewelina Skowrońska at stand G4.
The Tolman Collection in Tokyo (stand F3) is one of Japan’s longest-standing print galleries with over 50 years in business, specialising in highly technical Japanese prints. Keep an eye out for Ryo Nishimura’s subtle, poetic works and the playful, abstract prints of Noriko Saito at their stand, F3. Both young artists are working with a traditional drypoint print technique, and their works are collected by the prestigious Harvard Art Museum – a great investment for any collector!
RATEL Gallery from South Korea is an association of full-time artists that champion diverse practices ranging from realism to emotive abstraction with a presence across Asia, Europe, and the United States. Traditional techniques and cultural motifs are mixed with fresh, contemporary media in their varied roster of talented artists. Pop on to stand L9 to have a browse.
Based in Miami with an international presence across Latin America, the United States and Europe, Wolf & Nomad’s dynamic programme specialises in acclaimed mid-career artists from Latin America. At this year’s Battersea fair, Wolf & Nomad will present amazing works by Simon Vargas, Luciano Denver and Mariel Lebrija at stand J6. Simon’s whimsical collages engage with a range of themes in Latin American identity and bring awareness to various cultural minorities and environmental sustainability – with a hint of surreal magic!
