With creative minds and a wealth of experience, get to know the team behind Affordable Art Fair Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
It’s an exciting year in Australia, with two much-loved fairs taking place in Sydney and Melbourne, and a new edition launching in Brisbane. The team are busy with planning and production, putting their heads together to inspire more Aussies to discover the joy of collecting art in 2024. Get to know them better, including their highlights of fair week, and learn more about how we bring these art-filled events to life.
Stephanie Kelly Gordine is the Asia Pacific MD and Australia Fair Director. She actually bought her first every fine artwork at Affordable Art Fair in London!
“In 2012 we were planning our wedding remotely from Hong Kong and I saw Affordable Art Fair was launching. I sent an email to ask about wedding registries as we wanted art rather than another toaster. With a background in marketing, I also suggested I was happy to help with the launch. I ended up landing my dream job and finding an incredible artwork (as well as getting hitched, of course)”.
In 2019, Stephanie moved to Australia to launch Affordable Art Fair in Melbourne. She is delighted to now bring the fair magic to Sydney each year.
Stephanie is creative leader, culture vulture and number nerd with 20 years experience in building brands. She began her career in healthcare marketing in New Zealand and the UK before moving to Asia to make a change into the world of arts and events. Stephanie now lives in Sydney with her husband and three children.
“My happy place at the fair is the exit. I love seeing the smiling faces leaving, some with an artwork under their arm and then laughing when they try and fit it into their cars.”
Georgia Huestis is our Melbourne Fair Director and a former Affordable Art Fair exhibitor. Prior to joining the team, Georgia was the Director of a commercial gallery in London and enjoyed travel between fairs in the UK, USA and Asia.
“I found jet-setting between art fairs a total thrill. Reconnecting with art lovers in each city and matching collectors with new artworks forever remains a highlight. When the opportunity to help launch the Affordable Art Fair in my hometown arose, I couldn’t resist. Each Affordable Art Fair brings with it new flair and Melbourne certainly has its own feel. We are excited to return to the newly restored Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton. What a buzz it is exhibiting underneath the wonder of the heritage dome.’
Georgia completed her Creative Arts studies at the University of Melbourne and has worked in the secondary art market and at Australia’s Centre for the Moving Image. When Georgia isn’t surrounding herself with art, she’ll be found enjoying time with her young family.
Miranda Smith is our Australian Marketing Manager and brings experience from both Hong Kong and Melbourne to the role.
“I grew up attending the Hong Kong Affordable Art Fairs, and exhibited as an artist back in 2020 with Gallery Jeeum at my first Affordable Art Fair. The most exciting aspect of the fairs to me is being able to view such a diverse array of art styles all under the one roof.”
A lover of all things tech, Miranda shines in social media strategy and digital marketing. She is an RMIT Fine Arts graduate and exhibits internationally with a passion for light installation, public artworks, and abstract photography.
Nikki Berriman is our Fair Manager and looks forward to launching an Affordable Art Fair in her home city. She made the leap to Queensland with her husband and two little ones in 2022, embracing Brisbane and its unique creative energy.
An experienced arts administrator with an Honours degree in Fine Art, she has worked at renowned contemporary art galleries, such as STATION Gallery in Australia and Goodman Gallery in South Africa.
Victoria is our Marketing Coordinator based in Brisbane, Queensland. She has experience in marketing events in various disciplines, from musical showcases to theatrical extravaganzas! Visual art has a special place in her heart as she comes from a line of amazing women who have creative practices and businesses.
With a passion for design and visual storytelling, Siri has brought a wealth of arts knowledge to the Australian team since she joined Affordable Art Fair in October 2023 as Fair Coordinator. After completing her double degree in Art History and History, she has worked across administration, marketing and communications across the commercial gallery scene in Sydney.
