Doors to the inaugural Affordable Art Fair Brisbane open 9 – 12 May, 2024! Explore our top things to do during your arty day out with family and friends.

There’s so much to see and do at the highly anticipated launch of the Affordable Art Fair Brisbane (9 – 12 May). Held at the Brisbane Showgrounds Exhibition Building, collectors, gallerists, artists, and art enthusiasts will come together to share their love of creativity. Whether you’re looking for a piece that moves you or want to add a splash of excitement to your day, the Brisbane Fair is the place to be.

1. 1,000s of artworks available to snap up

Get ready to explore a diverse range of artworks, from abstract paintings to sculptures. With 40+ participating galleries from across Queensland, interstate and beyond, you can wander the aisles surrounded by 1,000s of original artworks. Have a blank wall at home to fill? Now is the chance to lose yourself in art.

2. Mother’s Day, Mum’s choice

We have your Mother’s Day plans sorted. Treat Mum to a fun day out, or spend time with your little ones – we’re all about creating a great time for the whole family!

Mums can enjoy a glass of bubbles in our wine lounge, whilst kids can enjoy complimentary face painting alongside relaxed walk-in workshops at our children’s art studio. Children under 16 don’t need a ticket and can come to the fair for free, making it a perfect family outing this coming Mother’s Day.

3. Live painting at the fair

While exploring the fair, you’ll have the chance to watch our Artists in Action, and get an inside look at their developed style and techniques. This is a unique opportunity to witness the creative process and appreciate the skill that goes into each brushstroke.

Don’t worry – if you fall in love with their artwork, you can head over to the gallery’s stand to purchase one for yourself.

4. Spot our Under $1,000 and Under $500 stickers

A highlight of visiting an Affordable Art Fair is hunting for the perfect piece. There’s something for every taste, space and spend, and we make it easy for you to stick to your budget with our handy Under AU$1,000 and Under AU$500 pink stickers. Keep your eyes peeled for these as you walk around the fair! 

5. Discover: Young Talent

We’re proud to introduce our highly anticipated Discover: Young Talent platform, where you can be the first to know must-see emerging talent for 2024. The platform will showcase artists who have been selected for their refreshing approach to their practice and rise in the art market. This curated stand of available works offers an ideal opportunity for collectors to snap up their artwork early and discover exciting new talent and techniques. With a range of mediums and styles, the Discover: Young Talent platform is not to be missed at the upcoming Affordable Art Fair Brisbane.

6. Art off the walls

In addition to over 40 galleries, get ready to immerse yourself in an array of large-scale sculptural works. Artworks at the Brisbane Fair will be a BIG deal, quite literally, with impactful installations throughout the venue.

7. Get closer to art with delightful programming

The fair is action-packed and offers many ways to get involved. From interactive experiences to learning opportunities, we’ve got so much in store for this May.

8. Indulge in our food and beverage offerings!

During your fair visit, we’ve got you covered no matter your preferred refreshment! Enjoy sparkling wine from our central bar or power up with a flat white from our coffee shop. With an array of delightful options, we’re here to ensure you never suffer from art fair-tigue. Sit back, savour the art, and ponder your next art purchase.

9. Children’s Art Studio

Creative kids will love the fair, which offers activities for them to explore. In Brisbane, a unique collaboration with Dion Parker will showcase works with a narrative story and include a little book.

10. Buy your tickets online, or at the fair!

Plan ahead or be spontaneous – it’s totally up to you! Tickets go live on 15 February with a special Early Bird discount.

If you want to purchase your tickets on arrival, head on over to our ticket desk. Whether you want to pay with your card or mobile device, we can take your payment quickly to maximise your time in the fair aisles.
