There is an abundance of amazing art to discover at the fair, with over 100 exhibiting galleries showcasing 1,000s of artworks! Expect a fantastic array of international art from the likes of Contempop Gallery (New York, USA) and Barnes Collective (South Africa) to Ronen Gallery (The Netherlands) and Zoom Gallery (South Korea) amongst many others. There’s plenty that’s fresh and new for 2022; Greenstage Gallery will showcase sought-after works from British abstract painter Martyn Jones for the first time, along with new artist Sara Hayward, whose Elle 1:1 000 000 series explores depictions of women around the world, whilst fair-favourites Clifton Fine Art present a series of new hyper-detailed urban landscape paintings by Tom White, and Sol Art present new collections by Portuguese artist Luis Bivar and Mexican artist José Cacho.
We’re thrilled to welcome 11 first-time exhibitors to the fair, incuding Rock n’ Roll heritage gallery The Art Hound (a must-see for music fans), Prince Art Gallery from Italy, Morningside Gallery from Edinburgh, and Air Contemporary; a new venture from Maria Morrow, whose roster boasts Peter Clark and Babak Ganjei amongst other artists.
Affordable Art Fair is a great place to see new work from emerging artists, and Hampstead’s 10th edition is no exception as we welcome back Made in Arts London (MiAL), a non-profit initiative devoted to nurturing young talent, and finalists from the prestigious Jackson’s Painting Prize 2022.
Featuring top emerging talent from across University of The Arts London’s (UAL) six colleges, Made in Arts London’s 2021 cohort present the Iridescent Collection, showcasing a broad spectrum of work in print, photography, illustration, sculpture and ceramics from a handpicked selection of up-and-coming artists.
Look out for Charlie Russell’s tactile mixed-media paintings that interrogate themes of class and social mobility. Esther Gabrielle Kersley’s research-led documentary photographs explore our relationship with the natural world; filmmaker and photographer, Ramakaushalyan, considers our subconscious experiences, and multi-disciplinary artist Orry Shenjobi looks at varying notions of individual/collective identity. To put it briefly, there is plenty of alluring and though-provoking work amongst this group of burgeoning artists.
Meanwhile the Jackson’s Painting Prize display gives visitors the chance to see the 2022 UK finalists’ work up close for the first time, including winner Lorena Levi. The finalists were selected by an expert judging panel including our own Regional Managing Director, Jennifer Conner. Find out more about the finalists here.
We’ve also teamed up with the UAL Student’s Union to produce a special installation in the fair’s foyer as part of our Emergence Commission. Created by Central Saint Martin students, Victoria Yeo (BA hons Architecture) and Pei Yi Goh (BA hons Ceramic Design), Can you smell the petrichor or is it just the blossoms? explores the complex coexistent relationship between man and nature as we emerge from the pandemic. Click. below to read what happened when we caught up with the artists ahead of the fair next week to learn more about the work.

We’re proud to be supporting Maggie’s Royal Free as Charity Partner at Affordable Art Fair Hampstead. Maggie’s offers a groundbreaking programme of cancer care, available for free to anyone at any stage in their cancer journey, from counselling sessions to drop-in art therapy classes. Maggie’s Royal Free is currently based inside the Royal Free hospital, and are in the process of building a brand-new centre, designed by architect Daniel Libeskind, which will enable them to reach many more people coping with cancer. The centre is planned to open in January 2023, and our Hampstead fair provides the perfect opportunity for North Londoners to support – visit Maggie’s stand at the fair to find out more, or add a donation to your ticket purchase.
