Five Must-See New Galleries at Our Brussels Fair

It’s time to meet the brand-new galleries making their Affordable Art Fair Brussels debut this winter at Tour & Taxis, 7 – 11 February.

Affordable Art Fair Brussels returns this February, showcasing contemporary art from across the globe. Among the highlights are five new galleries introducing cutting-edge artists that should head straight to the top of your must-see list. Get a feel for them before your visit.

ART-GALLERY.BE (BE)

Belgian-based and Belgian-focused, Art-Gallery.be want to highlight the work of mainly national artists in any stage of their careers. Emerging or established, the artists on show at their stand represent Art-Gallery.be’s passion for their home country’s art scene. They’ll be showing works by Steve Locatelli, Oli-B and Klaas Vanderperren. You can expect their stand to highlight some of the best of Belgian urban art, from the brightly coloured skull imagery of Locatelli, to the natural tones and abstract shapes of Oli-B. If you’re looking to bring bold, contemporary street art into your home then you’ll definitely want to give them a visit during the fair.

COLETIVO AMARELO (PT)

By adopting an intuitive approach to stand curation, Lisbon-based Coletivo Amarelo are a new addition to this year’s fair whose goal is to offer fresh, creative ways to appreciate art. They consider art to be fundamental to life. In fact, they view art and life as, essentially, the same thing. At our fair, they’re set to bring a diverse collection with inclusivity and education at the forefront, partnering with both local and international artists who are experimental and transformative, spanning photography, painting and printwork. Expect to see works by Eduardo Dias, Juliana Matsumura, Veridiana Leite and more.

GALERIE BORIS (FR)

Galerie Boris’ stand will be the ideal place to discover artists from the Balkans. Since 2017, they’ve specialised in highlighting talent from this region, raising awareness of the wealth of creativity that exists in an often-overlooked region of the art world. An exciting element of Galerie Boris’ founding values is their intention to mix visual and performing arts. With roots in the theatre, the gallery inspires their artists through play readings, and encourages a mix of genres. Djordje Lj. Savic, Snezana Petrovic and Ivana Zivic’s works will be presented at our fair this February, all of whom demonstrate this blend of art styles, which often results in a nod to surrealism.

PRIVATE WALLS GALLERY (BE)

Focused on bringing international artists to Belgian collectors, Private Walls Gallery take a different approach to the classic gallery set up. They want to provide an intimate space where visitors can meet like-minded people in a relaxed environment more akin to being welcomed into a home, rather than a traditional gallery.

Miniature sculptures by Spanish artist, Isaac Cordal, will feature amongst the contemporary figurative work of Toronto-based Erin Armstrong (main image). Also, look out for surrealist prints by Kristel Naessens and the intimate domestic paintings of Brazilian artist, Aline Gaiad.

3 PUNTS GALERIA (ES)

We’re excited to welcome 3 Punts Galeria to debut at our 2024 edition who, just like us, love to support new art collectors to help build a collection collaboratively, with ongoing advice and mutual enrichment. Based in Barcelona, their global vision will add dynamism to their presentation covering numerous styles and disciplines.

Prepare to experience the impressive stretched wood sculptures of Kiko Miyares, empowering figurative paintings by Lara Padilla and striking, cross-medium urban art from Alejandro Monge. Varied yet cohesive, their presentation is sure to inspire your creativity during your visit.
