Ready, set… let’s go!
Crane Kalman’s stand is a fitting start to our tour, since their wonderful artist, Giles Revell is also the campaign artist for Affordable Art Fair Battersea Autumn. Alongside his dynamic, ethereal photographs capturing the movement of dancers from the Royal Ballet, there are also countless other fantastic photographers to be discovered at their stand; such as Stephen Burridge’s lively portraits of locals from the streets of London’s suburbs that instantly enwrap the viewer in their lives. The entire line-up at this stand is an indulgent treat for the lovers of photography.
Next up, we’re off to ARTCODE’s stand – make sure to check out the emotive photographs of London-based artist Andrea Basteris. Andrea is an internationally exhibited artist – and contributor to the prestigious magazine, Vogue Italy – whose images depict the extremities of the human condition through documentary photography and portraiture.
Continuing on, let’s explore more stunning contemporary photography at specialists Capital Culture Gallery’s stand I5. Stir your spirits with powerful portraits captured by photographer James Sparshatt, and check out the evocative landscapes of Monica Denevan to ignite your sense of adventure. A wonderful selection of work through which you can experience diverse cultures, places and people.
Our next destination is The Drugstore Gallery – another UK-based specialist photography gallery. Don’t miss the colourful, eye-popping photographs of Barry Cawston, which have an almost painterly quality to them. Barry’s lens captures a wide variety of subjects from architecture, interiors, portraiture to landscape photography. The artist travels around the world with his lens, capturing everything from nostalgic British Chippies, to neon-lit American highways.
Wolf & Nomad are brand new to our Battersea Fair! The Miami-based gallery is showcasing some incredible photographic works by Argentinian artist Luciano Denver. Luciano’s masterfully composed architectural photographs resist both labels of documentary and artistic photography. The artist instead merges realist and fantastical elements together into digital imagined landscapes, that could exist in the real world, but in fact, don’t!
Finally, if you’re intrigued by analogue photographic techniques, be sure to stop by Gina Cross Art & Design for Jo Bradford’s works. Jo is an established photographer known for her darkroom methods of creating cameraless works – such as luminograms, photograms and cliché verre prints. In her own words: “I’m a colourist at heart, the wellspring for my practice is in recording the essence of the purest colour contained within light. My cameraless photography addresses the relationship between how we view and experience the intangible in an age increasingly defined by technology.” Head to the Gina Cross Art+Design stand to experience some of her beautiful, poetic abstract photographs!
