Arteria Gallery was founded independently in the Eastern Townships of Quebec in 2008, by Geneviève Lévesque.
Since that time, when Ms. Lévesque primarily represented emerging artists in local exhibitions, the gallery has grown to five full-time employees who manage over fourty professional artists from Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Now classified as a commercial art gallery, specializing in the sale of affordable art and sculpture in a variety of styles and mediums, Arteria yields the majority of its business from participation in international art fairs. The team travels in pairs to over a dozen fairs per year, coordinating their transport and client relations from their picturesque art gallery, in Bromont.
Ms. Lévesque and her collaborators, which include her partner, artist and curator Christian Dorey, take as their mandate simply “to create employment for artists.” The members of Arteria thus work, in a warm and personal style, to facilitate a relationship among artist and patron which stimulates the production of inspired and high-quality artwork.
