Women’s History Month
Mother installation by Margaux Carpentier
Discover a captivating new installation by London based artist Margaux Carpentier, welcoming visitors at the fair’s entrance hall. Mother is a towering presence – a giant structure holding secrets, riddles, and fragments of life. Get close enough, and you may catch a glimpse of what she carries within: her children, fears, pleasures, and untold stories.
“She is a rock, a boat, a house – made of strong, hard stuff, stitched together by thousands of soft threads”
This installation expands on Carpentier’s commissioned campaign artwork for the spring fair, delving into themes of corporality, identity, and the porous nature of our bodies. What defines our physical boundaries? What are we truly made of? Are we consuming the world, or is the world consuming us?
A reflection on the delicate balance of existence, Mother captures the eerie sensation of walking on thin ice – caught between the depths of our inner selves and the vast, unknowable universe beyond.
Resilience in Bloom
Resilience In Bloom is a powerful showcase exploring femininity, identity, and resilience, featuring artists who challenge expectations and reclaim narratives. Through painting, sculpture, and textiles, they address societal pressures, displacement, and environmental change while also celebrating strength, storytelling, and heritage. Together, their voices create a profound and thought-provoking dialogue, examining what it means to be a woman in a rapidly changing world.

Drop in workshop
STITCH: A Journey
This is a drop-in workshop, complimentary with your ticket.
Led by internationally renowned British-Lebanese artist Aya Haidar, in collaboration with charity partner Karmabank, this drop-in workshop invites visitors to contribute to a growing communal tapestry.
As part of our Women’s History Month programming, Aya invites visitors to take part in a collaborative stitching workshop that weaves together personal stories. Whether your journey is an emotional experience, a story of family migration, or something more personal, this workshop welcomes all ideas and ages. Stay for a few minutes or a few hours – each stitch will add to a growing communal tapestry. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own pre-stitched fabrics to incorporate into the piece, adding an extra layer of personal storytelling.
After the fair, the completed tapestry will be auctioned. Proceeds will support Karmabank’s initiatives for communities affected by displacement and injustice. Register to bid.
STITCH will take place on the Mezzanine Level at the following times:
Wednesday 12 March
– Private view: 6.30 – 8.30pm
Thursday 13 March
– Daytime: 2 – 4pm
– Art After Dark Lates: 6.30 – 8.30pm
Friday 14 March
– Daytime: 2 – 4pm
– Art After Dark: 6.30 – 8.30pm
Aya Haidar’s work uncovers silenced narratives, exploring themes of loss, migration, memory, labour, domesticity, and womanhood.
Her art is held in prestigious collections, including the Guggenheim Museum, the Jameel Collection, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
This workshop is part of Karmabank’s contribution to this year’s fair – a fantastic charity driving sustainable change for communities affected by war, disability, and gender-based injustice. Visit Karmabank’s stand to explore its RAW (Refugee Art Works) showcase, featuring works by Aya Haidar, alongside other female refugee artists and artists affected by war.
Support them by stopping by their stand or adding a £5 donation when purchasing your ticket online.
