It's always exciting to have a new fair location on the horizon, so get to know what you can expect from exhibiting at the inaugural edition of Affordable Art Fair Berlin.
After over ten very successful years in Hamburg, we are expanding into the heart of Germany’s creative capital to bring you Affordable Art Fair Berlin, launching at Arena Berlin 12 – 14 April 2024. Find out why we’ve decided to bring the busy aisles and inspiring art of Affordable Art Fair to the city, and what you can expect when exhibiting in Berlin.
We are investing in the longevity of our German fairs, which makes this a great time to join the journey. This is the best time to launch in Berlin because we can get ahead in bolstering the evolving art ecosystem. With out first fair in any city comes the opportunity to secure these new networks and grow with the market of existing and potential buyers. Our success in Hamburg is testament to this, with many exhibitors who joined in 2012 still benefiting from the fair’s continued success over the proceeding years. We put a great deal of trust in our galleries and, if you exhibit with us for a first edition, it builds the perfect foundation for many years of a secured space within our exhibitor list.
Bringing Affordable Art Fair to Berlin provides us a key platform to connect local galleries with a broader range of local collectors, complement the edgy, art-centric feeling of the city and provide a new must-attend event that differs from any other art event in Berlin.
For Affordable Art Fair Berlin, we’ve announced Arena Berlin as our impressive venue; a 100-year-old, red brick industrial building known for its being designed as the biggest structure in Europe without columns. It’s a great venue and a huge testament to the brand’s existing reputation in Germany that we have secured it for our fair. Built in the 1920s, it not only stands out in the city, but will present as an exciting venue to attend to locals as a unique and long-standing location full of cultural history. It’s a place where people want to come.
Balancing all the creativity of Neukölln with the affluence of surrounding districts, Arena Berlin is ideally situated to attract local art lovers who are ready to buy. Not only this, but the large, open nature of the warehouse space lends itself to inventive stand planning and programming. Fair Director, Oliver Lähndorf, has over a decade of experience producing curated, refined Affordable Art Fairs in Hamburg, so exhibitors can expect to present their works amongst a similarly high-quality roster.
Berlin is a very international city with a broad, but universally cultured, audience. Residents are often characterised by their progressive attitude, passion for the arts and a deep-rooted spirit. Whether they’re sipping coffee in a speciality café, cycling the streets of Kreuzberg just slightly west of our venue, or exploring the latest exhibition openings, one thing that unites Berliners is their embodiment of the city’s unique blend of history, innovation and creativity.
With a growing income structure and community of international expats, we are aiming to capture and speak to the expanding art buying market in Berlin. The city is brimming with start-up entrepreneurs and established businesses who are continually modernising to meet the demand of the famously cool, open-minded residents. This is why we feel that the right time to launch in Berlin is now, so we can use our brand’s core values to grow the art buying knowledge of art lovers in the city and convert them into the next generation of collectors.
