Let’s go!
Our tour starts at The Barker Gallery Stand, with Sophie Hannah’s beautiful minimalist paintings. Her simple compositions immediately evoke a sense of calm and reflection in the viewer, and feature a muted colour palette with a touch of gold. The artworks in this series work perfectly as diptychs, and are certain to add an air of timeless elegance to any room for a bargain price.
If you’re on the hunt for your next favourite abstract art piece, you can’t miss this next stand. Columbia Road Gallery’s selection for this year’s Battersea Autumn Fair includes a range of fantastic artworks in a predominantly abstract style. You can choose from the striking paintings and prints of Julie D. Cooper, Hannah Ludnow, Sophie Bayntun and others. Immerse yourself within a world of colours, contours and geometry.
We are continuing on to Turner Art Perspective at Stand D2, showcasing a series of silkscreen prints of Joe Webb’s eclectic, surreal collages. Having worked as a graphic artist on computers for many years, Joe is an established artist whose hand-made collages use found imagery to create nostalgic and lighthearted compositions. By montaging his artworks together from a variety of different sources, the artist is reflecting on today’s sampling culture and the constant flow of randomised images within cyberspace.
For any lovers of nature photography – make your way all the way to the Atelier Editions stand! You will find a range of stunning and affordable prints that capture the natural landscape and the animal kingdom from a range of different creative perspectives – from the sublime to the surreal!
Let’s head over to the NewingerArt stand and explore the stunning works of South African artist B.A. Moolman, and sculptural metal pieces by Spanish artist Nuria Forteza. Nuria collects old iron pieces from the Mallorcan countryside, and after processing them, transfers images onto these small `found canvases’, which she later further enhances using paint and colour. B.A. Moolman’s evocative paintings depict human interaction and intrusion into the natural landscape, with an almost hauntingly beautiful atmosphere.
Up next, we are taking you to Liberty gallery’s stand to check out Rebecca Strickson’s bold, psychedelic prints. The artist’s works are characterised by colourful patterns, busy compositions and striking typography, finding inspiration in the revolutionary culture of the 1960s and the imagery of trade union banners and protest signs. Embrace the power of community and collaboration with these eye-popping pieces!
On to the Smithson gallery stand, where you can discover the artworks of abstract painter, Eric Haacht and mixed media artist, Jayson Lilley! Eric Haacht’s abstract portraits are characterised by a powerful, emotive use of colour and expressive brushstrokes that seem to embody the movement of the artist’s hand. Jayson Lilley’s new series of hand-pulled screen prints embrace textures, accidents and unplanned marks on the surface; an unpredictability that reflects the personality of the city. The artist often wanders London’s streets to find new inspiration – and his artworks might make you want to do the same!
