Peter McCarthy paints expressive pictures, from his imagination, using oils, mixed media, and acrylics. His series of small oil portraits are a result of working on drawings of known artists from the past which has developed into imaginative heads influenced by facial expressions, which Peter has contorted into images. He works quite quickly to establish the finished result. Peter also paints larger scale work of solitary houses and landscapes, again drawn from his psyche. He recently exhibited and sold work at the 2019 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition London.
