About Lee Tiller

About the artwork

Painting by Impressionist Artist Lee Tiller. Inspired by the music of Delius, this oil painting is an evocation of a dewy Spring morning. As an artist, I strive to evoke emotion through colour, and in this painting, the feeling is one of optimism and a sense of tranquility. My paintings are created from the broken colour technique pioneered by the 19th Century French Impressionist artists. You’ll discover myriad colour harmonies and nuanced tones that when regarded as a whole, creates a cohesive unifying effect that is a constant delight. With each viewing, something new can usually be found. For me, impressionism is as close to nature as one can possibly through the medium of paint. The ‘First Cuckoo of Spring’ is a landscape oil painting in a vertical format. It is on a 30″ x 24″ stretched canvas, and framed in a wide, contemporary format white wooden frame.
