We can’t wait to welcome over 100 galleries back to our usual spot in Battersea Park this March and amongst our tried and trusted exhibitors the sharp eyed will be able to spot a few new faces to the fair. So, we thought we would welcome them the Affordable Art Fair way… with some quick fire facts and a great big fanfare of course!

First timers to the Affordable Art Fair Battersea, Lustre Contemporary was founded in 2015 with the dream of creating a platform to showcase the talents of Canadian artists on a global scale and lucky for us, they have definitely achieved their dream. The Canadian based gallery boast an impressive portfolio of styles spanning from abstract paintings to encaustic art – also known as hot wax painting – and is perfect for those looking for up and coming artists from the international art scene.
Artists on Lustre’s list to feature at the fair include Noelle Hamlyn, a fibre artist whose intricate ‘bookworks’ transport the term ‘up-cycling’ to a whole new level and Catto Houghton, an abstract painter inspired by architecture and design. One artist that stands out to us in particular is Patrick Lajoie (pictured), inspired by nostalgia and remembrance, Lajoie is a fine art photographer known for his image transfer works on wood panel that infuse both hue and texture. Stunning we think you’ll agree!
Lustre Contemporary will be exhibiting this year at Battersea on stand D7.
Formed in 2010 in Paris, and known to our extended global Affordable Art Fair family, Galerie Duret will be making their first UK appearance with us in Battersea Park this March.
With galleries in Brussels, Paris and Marrakech, you can expect a diverse selection of paintings, sculpture and photography from European and international artists. Amongst them, we recommend keeping an eye out for multi-media artist Nicolas Dubreuille who works in sculpture, canvas, papers and wall sculptures. Dubreuille’s ‘Sans Titre Ref. 370’ (pictured), is one of our favourite pieces, with it’s bold but beautiful design.
You can find Galerie Duret at stand L8.
Last but by no means least, we just had to shout about Australian based gallery Otomys. Otomys are a boutique art gallery on a mission to bridge the gap between the world of art and the world of interiors – we hear you guys!
They will be bringing a whole heap of work with them from the likes of Kirsten Lilford and Celia Gullett. Kirsten transforms everyday shots of family outings, domestic scenes and suburban landscapes into beautiful paintings. It’s Celia Gullett’s ‘Night Raga’ (pictured), which has been the talk of the office at the Affordable Art Fair HQ. We especially love its Indian inspired colour palette and the raw linen used to tie the tonality of the blocks of colour together. Perfection!
Discover more from Otomys at stand L2.
