Fair manager, Lovisa Vasseur, has pulled together a selection of the exciting, not-to-be-missed highlights ahead of Affordable Art Fair Stockholm (14 – 17 October, Nacka Strandsmässan).
We’re delighted to be back and excited to see new local galleries who have never exhibited at the fair before, bringing new fresh creative talent, alongside Live Art features, and a cutting-edge Recent Graduates exhibition.
Over to Lovisa for her top Stockholm fair highlights…
It’s the first time WAY gallery Sthlm will exhibit at the Affordable Art Fair, and within their talented roster of artists they’ll be bringing works by Estelle Graf, whose surrealist paintings are filled with animals and set within Stockholm’s city life (main image, titled Ensamlunch På Sturehof), alongside photographer Felicia Berlin-Baumgart’s hyper-real artworks and Francesca Berlin’s colourful pop-art pieces (below). I can’t wait to see all of these artists’ works live at the fair!
Artist, Dive Madhouse, will be painting live during Thursday’s Art After Work between (18.30 – 20.00, grab your tickets here), showcasing his expressive abstract artworks and bringing them to life before your very eyes. Feel free to chat to Dive, to learn more about what lies behind each artwork and where he finds the inspiration for his vibrant pieces..
If you’re planning on visiting over the weekend (don’t forget to book), make sure you see Maura Tavares who will also be painting live on Saturday 12.00 – 14.00 and Sunday between 13.00 – 15.00. Don’t miss the sublime details in Maura’s classical portraits and still life pieces.
Curators of the Recent Graduates exhibition, Sofia Jonsson and Lauren Johnson, will be bringing a wonderful selection of graduated artists’ works. The varied artworks displayed in this not-to-be-missed feature will range from sculptures to installations and oil paintings – including Marija Griniuk’s work (below).
