For our 30th edition of the NYC fair, we are thrilled to announce our partnership with Volley, the first clean tequila seltzer mixing the realest ingredients into pure, canned delight! When the co-founders, and husband and wife duo, Chris & Camila, realized what’s actually in most spiked seltzers, they decided to make their own with only three things. Organic juice. Sparkling water. Premium 100% blue agave tequila from the highlands of Jalisco. That’s it.
Volley’s branding “captures the light and perfectly balanced nature of our ingredients, with a sense of playfulness and magic.” Volley’s carefully curated color palette and custom-drawn typeface strike the balance of refreshing and honest, with a mission to create a uniquely wholesome product with just three clean ingredients.
In the lead up to the fair, we asked the Volley team to select some pieces from the over 60 galleries that will be exhibiting at The Affordable Art Fair NYC (September 23 – 26, 2021), opening this Wednesday, September 22 for our Private View from 6pm – 9pm.
Read along as the Volley team takes you through their top picks of the season, perfect to get you in the mood for all the art at the fair!
“Volley is a great summer drink to sip by the pool, and ‘Swim Me Today‘ is very inline with our ethos. We wish summer could be all-year round.”
Angus Martin’s ‘In The Waves Of Change‘ features “two pairs of bodies turned towards each other that are intensely engaged, while a fifth person on the far end is left out. We are all about inclusivity, and aim to connect people of all different backgrounds and walks of life together.”
“Youngsook Park piece titled, ‘City (NY)‘ really captures what the last year and a half has felt like. The two people featured are turned away from each other, and you can really sense a disconnect between them. I think many of us have experienced this same feeling recently. Volley is best-enjoyed with friends, and we’re hoping to bring people back together over a can or two of tequila seltzer.”
“The flamingos in JJ Galloway’s ‘Look at Me…I See You‘ symbolize the joy and beauty of life. One of our taglines at Volley is ‘good, clean fun,’ and is meant to encourage our consumers to live a positive life and appreciate the small joys.”
“Steven Lustig’s striking stone sculpture closely resembles a feminine silhouette. ‘Calliope Composing‘ a little abstract and misshapen but there is so much beauty in this unique piece.”
“Jolting out of the canvas, Natale Adgnot’s ‘Reflex Dispersion Study‘ is very striking, almost resembling a piece of coral. We love an outdoor adventure at Volley, and whats more magical than snorkeling in a coral reef.”
“I was immediately drawn to Dennis Crayon’s blurred, out-of-focus beach landscape, ‘Weekend at the Beach‘. Volley is the perfect beverage for a long weekend away at the beach, and this painting evokes that.”
“Flowers symbolize purity, fragility, and beauty. We love the juxtaposition between the harshness of the rips and the delicate watercolors on Aida Subira’s ‘To Break To Blossom 03′.”
“We love the Surrealist feel of ‘Suppe Nummer 2′. The rubber duck floating in the soup bowl is playful and a little bizarre. Our brand voice is lively and silly at times, so we really identify with this one.”
