Our Affordable Art Fair New York Spring Route Guides help you navigate the fair with your personal taste in mind to ensure you find all of your favorites.

The Next Gen Collector Route Guide designed for those shaping the future of art and culture.

Follow this route if you’re drawn to bold ideas, emerging voices, and fresh perspectives that push boundaries and redefine what’s next. We’ve curated a selection of artworks perfect for a collector like you—one who values innovation and the power of creative disruption!

1. Art Angler, B6

We’re starting the Next Gen Collector route with a colorful bang at Art Angler (B6), where Jose Palacios is packing a vibrant punch. His experience as a musician culminates into these layered, complex, and often experimental artworks that will perfectly capture the essence of those seeking bold ideas.

Jose Palacios, “Skylight 15,” 2022, mixed media on paper, 28×28″, $1750, Art Angler.

2. Shibori, A5

Shibori (A5) is where it’s at for the fearless, tenacious work of Karen Goddard. Joining us from Sydney, you can expect to see palettes plucked from coastal landscapes and the surrounding flora.

Karen Goddard, “Wattlespring,” 31×31″, $1555, Shibori.

3. Artspace Warehouse, E5

Dana Cowie wants her paintings to be a celebration of loving yourself in all your strangeness. Her work, presented by Artspace Warehouse (E5), is steeped in the tradition of textiles, which you can see in the patchwork nature of “Passing By Airport Road”. This fresh perspective is exactly what Next Gen collecting is all about – seeking the artists set to disrupt tradition.

Dana Cowie, “Passing By Airport Road,” 2024, Oil On Canvas, 36×48″, $2,200, Artspace Warehouse.

4. ArtDog London, D15

Forget what you knew about still life as you explore Kate Felton Hall’s oil paintings at ArtDog London (D15). Her captivating style gives everyday subject matter and ethereal quality, just like this glowing bottle of Blue Curacao. We love the blurred line between realism and impressionism – not to be missed!

Kate Felton Hall, “Blue Curacao,” 2024, Oil on board, 15.3×15.3x4cm, $375, ArtDog London.

Using insect specimens from historical collections, Tess Chodan takes the inherent beauty of nature and ramps it up with ornate, gilded frames. It’s so exciting to stop and marvel at these 18th century treasures at the fair. Find a collection of her work with Circus Gallery (E9).

Tess Chodan, “Celeste,” 2024, Morpho Didius Species, C.1700 silk embroidered fragment, 45x40x10cm, $2600, Circus Gallery.

Alison Cuomo goes all-in when it comes to painting. Each piece is irreproducible with loads of pigmented layers that build upon one another. She’s a Next Gen collector’s dream, whether you’re on the hunt for something bright and energetic, or intensely monochromatic. Take a closer look by heading to Gallery LEG’s stand on Level 1 (A9).

Alison Cuomo, “Afterlight,” 2024, acrylic on paper, 22 x 30″, $1700, Gallery LEG.

7. KW Contemporary Art, A4

Chloe Saron describes her style as Modern Romantic, taking all the fundamental aspects of Romanticism – emotion, the subconscious, and the sublime – and inflects her paintings with contemporary ideas. She wants you to perceive the scene as a moment, so do take the time to pause with her work at KW Contemporary Art (A4).

Chloe Saron, “FloraI,” 2024, Oil on canvas, 36×36″, $3300, KW Contemporary Art.

8. Alida Anderson Art Projects, D10

Hyperrealism is making a splash on social media at the moment, but it’s a style for the ages, too. One for the sweet-toothed collector, Dora Patin’s candy depictions are full of joy and sheer artistic talent.

Dora Patin, “FOREVER,” 2024, Oil on Panel, 5×7″, $850, Alida Anderson Art Projects.

Take a breather at Irina Sheynfeld’s “Magic Mountain”. This series is inspired by various mountains from literature, which culminates in an elemental and imaginary world – one where magenta is right at home with lime green. She uses a range of media to produce her landscapes, and we think the Next Gen collector is in for a treat amongst the other treasures presented by Artois Gallery (A1).

Irina Sheynfeld, “Magic Mountain,” 2023, oil pastel on board, 19×24″ $1,850, Artios Gallery.

10. Manifest Destiny Art, D9

Last up on the Next Gen Collectors route are the must-see moments of Yelena Lezhen. Just the same as Irina Sheynfeld above, Lezhen is now a NYC local after moving from Ukraine. Don’t miss these mixed media masterpieces, which fill the paper canvas with elements of portraiture and rich, gilded accents.

Yelena Lezhen, “Blue and Beautiful Fantasies,” 2024, Acrylic and Ink on Paper, $1800, Manifest Destiny Art.
