Spotlight on Innovation and Unconventional Mediums

Making their debut at the Melbourne Fair is the innovative Shibori Gallery. Founded in 2005 by Karen Davis and Pepa Martin, this gallery brings the ancient technique of resist dyeing into the contemporary world with a fresh, creative twist. Their outstanding craftsmanship turns pleated silk into stunning, shimmering patterns—each piece meticulously hand-bound and dyed. Known as pioneers in modern shibori, Karen and Pepa have authored two books, “Shibori Recreated” (2011) and “Tie Dip Dye” (2014). Now you have the chance to experience their extraordinary textile art firsthand. Don’t miss the opportunity to see why Shibori Gallery is a leader in textile design.

Galleries from across the globe under one roof

New Zealand’s largest and leading urban art hub, Limn Gallery, will also be joining us in Melbourne. Specializing in post-graffiti and contemporary art, Limn Gallery thrives under the expert curation of Matt Heath, a seasoned collector with a passion for sparking dialogues about urban art and its cultural significance.

Exhibiting with Limn Gallery is Petra Leary, an award-winning artist whose breathtaking aerial photography has captivated audiences worldwide. Petra’s journey into aerial photography was nothing short of adventurous, marked by daring climbs and audacious pursuits in her quest for the perfect shot. Her fearless spirit led her to scale skyscrapers and cranes, an endeavour that occasionally landed her in unexpected situations, including brushes with the law.
