This spring’s edition of the Affordable Art Fair Battersea promises a feast for the eyes with over 100 contemporary galleries to explore, including eleven that are exhibiting for the very first time! From community-led spaces to international programmes championing both emerging and established artists, read on to discover the inspiring new work they’re bringing to the fair this spring, 4 – 8 March.
From across the UK
This female-led collective feels particularly fitting for this year’s Battersea Spring fair, which coincides with International Women’s Day. Focusing on emerging and underrepresented artists, BlueHouse Artspace prioritises collaboration and community over hierarchy.
They are especially excited to present work by Binu Chaudhary, KC Crompton, and Parul Tolentino. While each artist works in a different medium—acrylic, oil and watercolour respectively—their practices are unified by emotional resonance, originality, and a strong visual language rooted in lived experience, land and connection.

Natasha O’Kane Sussex Contemporary Art
Director Natasha O’Kane is particularly excited to shine a spotlight on Sussex, a region with a thriving artistic community and a wealth of talent. Building on a foundation first established by her mother-in-law, Sarah O’Kane, the gallery specialises in fine art painting and celebrates artists deeply connected to place and practice.
Natasha works closely with her artists, regularly visiting them in their studios to discuss work for exhibition, and enjoys guiding art lovers at every stage of their collecting journey, from first-time enquirers to seasoned collectors.

King & McGaw’s mission is to make contemporary art accessible to a wider audience through high-quality, collectible limited-edition prints. Acting as a bridge between original artworks and the broader art market, they offer an entry point for both new and seasoned collectors. At the fair, they will debut a new edition by Liz West, whose practice explores colour and light.

If you have a passion for horses alongside art, Art & Horse Racing Gallery is not to be missed—though even those new to the equestrian world will find this stand engaging. Born in Newmarket, the horse racing headquarters of the UK, the gallery was founded by vet Ilka Gansera-Leveque from her love of both art and horse racing. Originally from Germany and married to a Frenchman equally involved in the horse racing world, the gallery’s international roots are reflected in its carefully selected roster of artists.
Amongst many impressive artists, look out for Giacomo Mazzari, making his fair debut with oil paintings that blend still life and landscape with geometrical elements. His work has a refreshing, uplifting Italian sensibility – painted to the rhythm of classical music.

Nestled in the heart of St Andrews, Gallery Franklin is both historic and contemporary. The gallery is housed within a setting steeped in history, yet champions a contemporary approach, showcasing emerging artists alongside more established names. Strongly embedded in the local community, Gallery Franklin maintains close relationships with both the town and the university. While painting remains central to their programme, the gallery is steadily expanding its sculptural offering.
Particularly exciting is David Mackie Cook, an artist rarely shown outside of Scotland. Living and painting entirely offline, he is accessible only by letter, adding a quiet, compelling sense of mystery to his practice.

Born from a love of photography, Afinju is driven by a deep appreciation for the essence of culture, with a particular focus on the rich tapestry of African heritage. The gallery encourages meaningful connections between people and art, warmly welcoming both new and seasoned collectors to explore work by emerging and established artists alike.

European Highlights
Rooted in the island’s long-standing spirit of freedom, diversity and respect for nature, In-between-Ibiza believes in the power of art to bring about positive change. The work they showcase imagines a more hopeful future through these shared values of peace, creativity, and sustainability.
At their stand, visitors can expect a diverse range of mediums and price points, including work by Malvina Kang Hughes, whose practice draws from her early training in ballet and creative writing, as well as Ibiza’s vivid landscapes and atmosphere.

Meaning “brightness” in German, Galerie Helligkeit brings a positive and uplifting energy through its international programme. The gallery encourages collectors to look beyond trends and instead trust their emotional response, letting instinct guide their connection to the work.

Voices from South-East Asia
Art WeMe Contemporary is thrilled to introduce emerging and mid-career Asian artists to a more international audience. The gallery places strong emphasis on the emotional dimensions of art and how personal resonance can shape both artistic practice and the act of collecting.
Visitors are actively encouraged to be curious, to learn about artists and their processes, and to collect work based on genuine connection. Highlights include Lau Wai Leng, Huang Yulong and Yuttana Chompupen, whose works range from still-life compositions to sculptural pieces and dreamlike landscapes.

Operating closer to a curated art consultancy, Y Art Project focuses on European-Asian contemporary art and views creative practice as a form of self-discovery. Making their London debut at Affordable Art Fair Battersea, the gallery brings works intended to offer moments of calm and reflection amid the pace of city life.
Their advice to collectors? “Begin with your heart, not the market. Let yourself be drawn to pieces that speak to you personally. Trust your instincts and choose work you can imagine living with every day.”
