We can‘t wait to welcome all exhibitors, visitors, collectors and art lovers from across Texas and beyond. With preparations well underway for the inaugural Austin fair, meet the team working behind the scenes and read about their top picks ahead of Affordable Art Fair Austin, May 16 – 19 2024.
Fair Director, Cori Teague
After finding her love for visual arts in college, Cori dove into every opportunity to learn the art industry which landed her in well-established galleries in Laguna Beach, Beverly Hills, and Austin. Cori has made significant contributions to the art world as a gallery director, curator, event planner, and successful selling artist. With a keen eye for talent and a passion for the arts, Cori is committed to fostering creativity, promoting artists, and creating engaging artistic experiences.
Cori’s Pick: Karen Davis | Shibori gallery
As an artist, I’ve committed years to learning various mediums and techniques, fostering an appreciation for the artistic involvement in seamlessly combining different artistic elements. Artists who adeptly embrace the realms of sculpture and painting never cease to captivate my attention. Karen Davis, with her ingenious fusion of textiles, movement, and color, transcends the canvas, evoking a profound sense of tranquility in each piece. Whether grand or intimate in scale, her textile wall sculptures inject life into any space. Karen Davis will be shown with Shibori gallery and will be one of our furthest traveled artists, hailing from Australia, and won’t be one to miss!

With marketing experience across various industries, from tech to real estate – Erin is passionate about building communities through engaging content. With a firm belief that art has the unique ability to bring people together and inspire meaningful conversations, Erin is excited to leverage her professional background and love for art to bring the Affordable Art Fair Austin to life.
Erin’s Pick: Modern Rocks Gallery
I’m really looking forward to Modern Rocks Gallery being at the fair. They’re known for their rare and historic rock n’ roll photography collection and that just never gets old as a viewer.
Scott Newton’s photos celebrate the early Austin music scene, often capturing the less-seen, in-between moments of now iconic music figures during the 70s.
This is one of my favorite photos by Lynn Goldsmith. I’m from the Miami area and growing up my mom was a huge Beatles fan so it just feels perfectly nostalgic for me.
Cristina Salmastrelli, Regional Managing Director
Since 2006, Cristina has directed, managed or produced over 70 art fairs. From the ADAA Art Show and the ifpda PRINT SHOW to PULSE, VOLTA and Affordable Art Fair, she’s seen almost everything! She joined Ramsay Fairs over twelve years ago and loves that, when it comes to art fairs, no other event is even half as good at attracting the elite art professionals, to the elementary artistic voyeurs, simultaneously.
Cristina’s Pick: Gav Sears | Sage Studio
The first artwork I ever collected was by an outsider artist and over the last 18 years of collecting art, my connection to self-taught artists has only strengthened. Sage Studio is a unique gallery that provides an unbelievable opportunity to honor the artist and the making of art in a completely pure way.
Gav Sears’ works are intricate yet simple. Warmth and ambiance are realized using only pen and minimal color. An impressive feat for any artist, self-taught or not.
Anna Mesman, Business Development Manager
First joining the Affordable Art Fair team as an intern while studying for her Masters, Anna fell in love with the company and hasn’t left since! Having honed her art fair experience as the Amsterdam Fair Manager for three years and being a part of the global team for four, she became our Business Development Manager in 2022, ready to help grow the Affordable Art Fair further.
Anna’s Picks: Michele Mikesell | Decorazon Gallery
Being Dutch, I have a deep appreciation in abstract and German Expressionism, so my connection to Michele Mikesell’s work was instant. Even though we are from two very different places in the world, my connection to the work reconfirms how art truly unites cultures and bond communities. Michele’s portraits are so familiar, consistently invoke questions for me to tackle evolving my appreciate of contemporary art.
Michele Mikesell will be represented by Decorazon Gallery at the Affordable Art Fair Austin in May.
