We are super excited for the return of Made in Arts London to the Hampstead fair and this year’s selection of emerging artists, made up of students, or recent graduates, from the University of the Arts London, are keeping it current and celebrating the cultural diversity of London post-EU referendum. We’ve hand-picked a few highlights to get your taste buds tingling…
Imogen’s playful and experimental style of making work – mixing mediums such as prints, drawings and photography – creates contemporary and colourful images.
One of the main themes in her work is the concept of paradise, something that she’s not sure that she believes in herself, but that we think is particularly fitting for this year’s travel-inspired fair theme. These are definitely artworks made to whisk you away!
Daniela creates embroidered artworks that she hopes will transport you elsewhere through her use of travel-inspired motifs. Her bi-cultural heritage, and the physical and emotional journey she’s been on, have led her to express elements of curiosity about the world around her through her work.
She mixes snap shots from the places that she has travelled with the stories she has heard along the way, and weaves them together to form her imaginative embroidered artworks. Dreamy!
Drawing on her interests in design history, ancient philosophies and womanhood, Agnese creates screen prints with multiple cultural layers. She explores states of mind such as contemplation, pleasure and ecstasy and her designs often include a mystical female.
We think Taurina’s bold and graphic use of colour and form creates a visual language reminiscent of the iconic twentieth-century artist Matisse, making her works all the more desirable!
