Meet five exhibitors that Fair Director, Erin Schuppert, has shot straight to the top of her must-see list this Spring. Fresh or established, be inspired by the variety of work on offer. Plus, get a first look at five exhibitors making their Affordable Art Fair NYC debut.
Join Erin Schuppert, our resident art expert and New York Fair Director, for a must-see tour of five highlight galleries before the doors even open. She runs us through her top galleries to watch out for, as well as introducing us to five exhibitors making their Affordable Art Fair debut in March (22 – 26) 2023. Over to Erin!
This Brooklyn-based gallery was one of our top-selling exhibitors in Fall 2022. They primarily showcase artists who take influence from pop art and street art, which are styles that always make a statement within the contemporary aesthetic of our fair. Azart is consistently a favorite for our New York audience.
ArtStar is a one-stop eCommerce site for collectors, curators, interior designers and advisors looking for the perfect wall décor. Chrissy Crawford Corredor founded ArtStar when she spotted a gap in the market between poster-based wall art and blue-chip fine art. The work they have on offer embodies the Affordable Art Fair experience, with accessible prices and museum quality. Expect pastel-ized urban landscapes and a propensity for pink.
With all eyes on Argentina after their World Cup win, now is the perfect time to discover contemporary Latin American artists from this gallery based in both Buenos Aires and Miami. Whether it’s wall art, sculpture or an innovative hybrid, they always bring big color and high energy.
An Affordable Art Fair newcomer! With a focus on narrative art and illustration, I’m excited to see the range of comic book-style artworks that spotlight the balance between fine art and graphic illustration. Catherine Meurisse is the perfect example of an artist treading this line; her soft, charcoal and crayon illustrations are full of life and expertise.
A Level 2 visitor favorite, this local gallery exhibits Japanese and Japan-based artists. I am always impressed by their technically brilliant range of artists and recommend any savvy print collector to take a trip to their stand. Destined for a diptych, these two artworks stood out for me with their organic shapes and ethereal colour use.
And finally, we’ll be welcoming eight fantastic new exhibitors to the fair this Spring. Make sure to look out for Arbor 3 Arts, See | Me, ASMP NY, Mazlish Gallery, Anne-Céline Grandury Art, Carpe Diem Gallery, Leonard Tourne and Philippe Labaune Gallery who are all making their Affordable Art Fair New York debut!
