Children’s Art Competition: Celebrating Your Local Community

We’re thrilled to return with our Children’s Art Competition at Affordable Art Fair Hampstead, 6 – 10 May.

Affordable Art Fair

Wednesday 1 April, 2026

We’re delighted to bring back our Children’s Art Competition, inviting primary school pupils from Reception to Year 6 in Hampstead and the surrounding area to explore their connection to their local community through art.

This year’s theme is Heath & Heart: Celebrating Your Local Community, an invitation to reflect on what makes your neighbourhood special, from the famous heath on your doorstep to the people and places that make it home.

Winning entries and runners-up will be showcased at the Hampstead fair across three categories (Reception and Year 1, Years 2 to 3, and Years 4 to 6), giving young artists the chance to have their work celebrated alongside galleries from around the globe. Winners and runners-up will also receive complimentary tickets to the fair.

How to enter

Create a 2D artwork no bigger than A4, using any materials you like. Paint, pencils, crayons, collage… whatever brings your ideas to life.

Submit a photo of your entry via the entry form by 20 April 2026. If your entry is selected, your physical artwork should be handed to your teacher to bring to the fair, or dropped off at the Affordable Art Fair Marquee, Lower Fairground Site, East Heath Road, NW3 1TH between 1 and 3 May 2026.
