As we celebrate 25 years of Affordable Art Fair, now is the perfect time to discover the galleries that have been with us from the start. Art Movement, Stand I1

Start your journey at Art Movement, a gallery that has been with us since the very first Affordable Art Fair in 1999. Over the years, they’ve launched the careers of artists like Alvaro Petritoli, now a global sensation. This year’s stand features a mix of new and established artists, including Susan Light, who exhibited at the very first fair. Their collection aims to foster joy and an emotional connection through art. Keep an eye out for emerging talents like Henry McAlpine and Samah Rafiq, alongside the popular Petritoli.

“At our first Affordable Art Fair in 1999, we sold 55 pictures and have since exhibited globally. We wouldn’t have ventured into these markets alone – it’s thanks to the fair’s collaborative and supportive approach,” says Milly Green, Founder.

Linda Blackstone Gallery, Stand E2

Next, head to Linda Blackstone Gallery, where they’re showcasing the debut of a brand-new limited edition sculpture, Gaia Spring Slumbers by Jonathan Hateley. It’s a must-see!

“Our favourite part of the Affordable Art Fair experience has been the opportunity to showcase our innovative artists on a global stage for the past 25 years, alongside other wonderful galleries – many of whom have become dear friends,” says Linda Blackstone, Founder.

Hanga Ten Contemporary Japanese Prints, Stand D6

Explore the beauty and tradition of Japanese art with Hanga Ten, specialists in contemporary Japanese prints. Since 1999, they’ve introduced countless collectors to the delicate craftsmanship of artists like Katsunori Hamanishi, Sarah Brayer, and Nana Shiomi. These prints combine centuries-old techniques with modern touches.

“Affordable Art Fair helped establish Hanga Ten as the leading specialist of contemporary Japanese prints in the UK and Europe. Over the past 25 years, our artists have been included in the collections of prestigious museums such as the British Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art,” says Chiko Nara, Owner.

Will’s Art Warehouse, Stand D8

Founded by Affordable Art Fair Founder and CEO Will Ramsay, Will’s Art Warehouse has been part of the fair since day one. The gallery continues to showcase talented emerging artists such as Nadia Attura, Florence Wolsley, and Tanya Reid. Whether you’re a first-time buyer or a seasoned collector, this stand is a great spot to find vibrant and accessible art.

“It’s been a joy helping first-time buyers discover art in such a welcoming environment. Over the past 25 years, the fairs have enabled us to reach new audiences globally,” says Pixie Andrew, Art Consultant.

Tallantyre Gallery, Stand D12

At Tallantyre Gallery, you’ll find a diverse selection of works, from Caroline Richardson’s calming still-life compositions to Lion Feijen’s richly coloured, Dutch-inspired paintings. Their stand showcases local and global talent, bringing a serene and atmospheric depth to their artworks.

“Affordable Art Fair has given us the opportunity to showcase both local and global talent to an ever-growing audience, launching many successful careers thanks to the exposure our artists have received,” says Tallantyre Gallery.

Quantum Contemporary Art, Stand C5

Make your way to Quantum Contemporary Art, for a showcase of diverse artists. Georgia Hart captures changing landscapes using palette knives, while Hazel Mountford elevates animals into symbolic icons through her gold leaf circular series. Don’t miss Vanessa Whitehouse’s shimmering depictions of Kent’s orchards or Ron Lawson’s tranquil portrayals of the Scottish Isles.

““I started Quantum in 1997 with plans for large-scale shows featuring 100 artists. After a few events, Will launched the Affordable Art Fair right on our doorstep in Battersea. We embraced it immediately and became dedicated members, signing up for fairs in New York, Singapore, and Hong Kong! In 2009, when the global financial crisis hit, our diversification across locations helped keep us afloat. A key moment in our evolution came when Amelia joined us in 2014, which Tara and I agree is the most significant event in our 26 year history. Will’s vision for the Affordable Art Fair has changed many lives, including ours,” says Owner, Johnny Gorman.

Artichoke Artists London, Stand B10

At Artichoke Artists London you’ll discover a range of talented printmakers like Shivangi Ladha, who has exhibited internationally at venues like the Royal Academy, and Colin Gale, an expert in editioning for renowned artists. Don’t miss Peter Town’s bold abstract works that bring everyday experiences to life through striking visuals.

“Printmaking is in the strongest position it has been in for 25 years. The Affordable Art Fair has played a key role by promoting original printmaking and banning reproductions at all its fairs,” says Co-Founder Colin Gale.

Byard Art, Stand A4

Finish your route at Byard Art, where you’ll find Ian Rawling’s realistic pastel works and Waller and Hewett’s interactive “pollywobbles” that invite you to touch and explore. It’s the perfect final stop to wrap up your art journey at the fair.

“We love connecting with regular clients and establishing new relationships. The thrill of selling original artwork that becomes a cherished part of someone’s life is unparalleled,” says Gallery Manager Hannah Strachan.
