Represented by 13A New Street Gallery, artist Candy Mary utilises various mediums to create her character-filled sculptures. The main character of her work, Mary, is a romantic but mischievous individual; she travels through time to look for memories and dreams.
13A New Street Gallery will showcase several of the artist’s works, including the limited edition sculptures seen below. Candy Mary’s imagination is as playful as it is expansive: collecting one of these works will bring this sense of childlike wonder into your home.
Using ink in a distinctly modern way, artist Rachel Wong from Ubu Deco Gallery will be bringing a series of calligraphy works to Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong. A contemporary take on traditional ink works, Wong’s Chinese characters directly express the message they communicate, with a piece of landscape beautifully incorporated into the design itself.
If you have a love of traditional ink works but a modern home interior, Rachel’s works would be a perfect choice of artwork. Communicating positive messages to visitors, your home will be sure to benefit from the warmth and good will of these delicate artworks.
With his captivating photographs, Japanese artist and photographer Kenichi Asano elevates the medium to another level. Represented by Art of Nature Gallery, Asano’s cityscapes feature a combination of intentional white spaces and blurred textures, creating the effect of a desert mirage.
His series of works ‘Void in City’ were captured in Japan, a country with interesting urban planning in which green spaces and high-rise buildings coexist. Editioned photographs with such enticing concepts are definitely a good start for any collecting journey!
Polish artist and illustrator Mateusz Kolek is joining Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong for the second time and has already garnered a large number of supporters since his last time with us. Kolek’s playful, psychedelic and dreamlike style is heavily influenced by his many trips to Asia, and studying its art and environment.
Represented by ZtoryTeller, this year Mateusz will be bringing artworks of different cities, including Tokyo, one of the Hong Kong people’s favorite cities, and Krakow, his home city.
Brought to you by Art Projects Gallery, Hong Kong artist Maysum has a series of sculptures suitable for first-time buyers! With an interest in art spanning not only on sculpture but also drawing, Maysum’s dreamy, airy signature style evokes fairytale-like whimsy.
Since 2012, Maysum has been exploring various mediums, collaborating with a number of brands. Creating her sculptures often as single editions, Maysun’s works are a rare and beautiful find!
The geometric style by British-born artist and photographer Kyra Campbell takes a sleek, minimalist approach that could work well in any interior. As single edition photograms, Campbell’s works are a stunning (and unique!) choice for the home.
Kyra enjoys working in a darkroom where possible; on top of her geometric photographs, Kyra also takes double exposure photographs of Hong Kong, revealing her own captvating perspective of this city.
Also presented by the Hong Kong Arts Collective, French artist Camille Levert focuses on photography and collage. Her works combine her delicate skills, depicting neglected features of Hong Kong.
Levert’s series “Handmade in Hong Kong with care” utilise the many neon signs found in the city, overlayed with feminine hands: signifying a tedner and caring gesture. Handmade in Hong Kong, neon signs are recorded as one of the most prosperous products of the city’s history.
Gaspard Mitz’s intriguing artworks boast a head-turning humour. His works, always positioned within small boxes, feature miniature human figures interacting with or echoing their background – a classical painting.
Represented by Faith Art Gallery, Gaspard is actually no stranger to Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong. His works are a frequent favourite of Hong Kong art lovers and collectors – they have no doubt stirred interesting conversations among family and friends!
Eyed any artists you’d like to know more about? These and many more talents will be at the fair. Don’t miss the chance to discover them at Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong, 4 – 7 August at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. We will see you there and help you to start your art collecting journey!
