TIDO ART was founded in Nanjing, China, in 2014 by a group of like-minded individuals. In 2018, we relocated to Melbourne, Australia, seeking the freedom to create art without restrictions. Today, TIDO ART represents three artists, notably Dada Duan, who studied Western visual composition, colour theory, and traditional Chinese sketching and ink painting at the Fine Arts College of Nanjing Normal University. Duan’s journey led him to ceramics, where he masterfully combines techniques like copper-red, blue-and-white, and multi-coloured underglaze. His fine lines and subtle imagery create richly layered surfaces that harmoniously blend form and colour. TIDO ART is dedicated to sharing ceramic art with the people of Australia, bridging cultures between China and Australia, and continuing the pursuit of modern ceramics.
