Maya Gallery

Maya Gallery, established in 2012 by Singaporean artist couple Jeffrey Wandly and Masturah Sha’ari, celebrates Singapore’s rich multicultural heritage, with a focus on Malay artists. The gallery represents pioneer masters Sarkasi Said, S. Mohdir, Sulaiman Suhaimi and Idris Ali, and has showcased works of master potter Iskandar Jalil, alongside established artists including Salleh Japar, Suriani Suratman, Hiroko Mita, P. Gnana and Rosihan Dahim, while continuing to support emerging talent. The gallery’s dedication to dialogue, research and publishing has cemented its critical role in raising awareness of the nation’s art history, contributing to our cultural landscape, and bridging cross-cultural understanding in the international art community. Some significant exhibitions include Huu Nghi: Singapore & Vietnam 50-10 Exhibition (2023) at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi, Vietnam; Idris Ali: Hitam Putih (2022); Sambal Goreng: Celebrating Hari Raya (2019); Soul Vistas: An Introspective Journey Through Our City (2017); Singapura Chantek: 5 Decades of Painting (2013) by Idris Ali; and Serba-Serbi: Contemporary Malaysian Artists (2022), a collaboration with Core Design Gallery, Malaysia. Upholding a social responsibility, Maya Gallery has also participated in many fund-raising projects for various charitable causes.
