Founded in 2008 on the Ile d’Yeu by Véronique Cochois, Galerie Insula is a unique space for enganing with contemporary art. Relocated to the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris 2011, the gallery presents an innovative selection of works. By fostering a dialogue between painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking and drawing, it highlights the unique language and sensitivity of works that transcend their alignment with current trends, navigating between poetic figuration and abstraction. Its programme places a strong emphasis on the natural world, celebrating both plant and animal themes. Since its inception, Galerie Insula has encouraged the discovery of promising young talent as well as established artists, whom it supports in their projects.
In 2024, Adjacent opened its doors in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. Conceived by artist Livia Johann, this dynamic new space is the culmination of thoughtful exploration into the emerging contemporary art scene. Adjacent functions as a multi-faceted platform dedicated to the production and exhibition of up-and-coming French and international artists. The gallery focuses on showcasing artists with a strong commitment to themes of nature, humanity, and the exploration of material properties, placing these concerns at the core of their creative approaches.
