The Erika Deák Gallery, one of the first commercial galleries in Hungary, was founded in 1998. Since it’s opening, the gallery exhibited progressive Hungarian and international art every all medium, and has organized over a thousand exhibitions. Besides providing a platform for gallery artists to present their work regularly, the gallery hosts independent projects, every year it invites and awards a young curator to organize a group show, e.g. the critically acclaimed My obvious presence, an international exhibiton on motherhood. It is also the the gallery’s mission to continue art historical dialogues and bring different generations together in dual or group presentations.
