Between Forms

Between Forms, a Sydney-based collective, brings together three artists working across expanded printmaking, painting, photography, and visual storytelling. Their work explores themes of connection, transformation, identity, and belonging, drawing on personal narratives, ecological concerns, and experiences of community across diverse landscapes.

Haylie Jayde Atkins  specialises in expanded printmaking. Her practice examines the intersections of ecology, technology, and materiality through imagery of native Australian flora. Exploring reproduction, displacement, and ecological grief as sites of transformation, Atkins investigates the fragile relationships between human, nonhuman, and artificial systems, reflecting on resilience, loss, and the traces we leave in both natural and digital worlds.

Julia Norton is a painter whose atmospheric skyscapes explore the emotional terrain of motherhood, memory, and change. Clouds become metaphors for the transition of parenting children into adulthood.. Through layered processes of dripping, scrubbing, and veiling paint, Norton creates landscapes of the soul that hold joy, nostalgia, uncertainty, and hope in equal measure. Her work invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences of love, separation, and growth.

Harriet Pratten is a photographer and creative director whose international practice explores identity, belonging, and the intersections of culture and place. Her work emerged from more than a decade documenting communities across southern and eastern Africa, where she co-founded Ginkgo Agency and produced award-winning projects including 21 Icons and Beautiful News. A co-author of 21 Icons: Portrait of a Nation and co-producer of the National Geographic documentary Europe’s Last Leopard.
