Rémy Bucciali, couturier and founder of the editions, studied in the Paris region at the Rigal studio, where he trained by printing engravings of great masters like Salvador Dali.
In 1983, he decided to settle in Colmar where he opened his current atelier. Since then, he has invited more than 80 artists to collaborate with him. Painters, engravers and sculptors, internationally renowned masters and young talents, from Japan, from all over Europe, from the United States but also from Alsace have succeeded one another in the atelier.
During their residencies of several days, they developed a series of prints with Rémy Bucciali and his collaborator for more than twenty years, the painter and engraver Mitsuo Shiraishi. Alma Bucciali, Rémy's daughter, has recently joined the team to assist them.
The atelier's approach is unique, including the processes of design, printing, editing and distribution of the work. This approach, utilising centuries-old techniques, has allowed them to develop a contemporary line.
Every year, Bucciali publishes more than two-hundred limited editions, sold all over the world. The plates are destroyed after the printing and recycled, thus guaranteeing the authenticity and uniqueness of the prints.
