Contemporary art gallery Byard Art is located in the historic Centre of Cambridge, opposite King’s College Chapel. The independent art gallery’s innovative exhibition programme of solo and mixed shows by contemporary artists offers a unique selection of two and three dimensional work, in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Byard Art began in 1993 in Nottingham's Byard Lane on the top floor of a Victorian Lace Factory. A commercial gallery, it specialised in contemporary visual and applied arts. The relocation to Cambridge in 1998 allowed the business to expand into the corporate and public sectors. In September of ‘98 Byard Art moved into a gallery space in central Cambridge on St Mary’s Passage which provided a permanent showcase for gallery artists' original artwork.
During this time Byard developed an international reputation supporting a regular exhibition programme as well as participating in major art fairs, including art London (Chelsea) and London Art Fair (Islington) and the Affordable Art Fair Spring & Autumn. Byard has also exhibited in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin, Newcastle and Bristol as well as regularly showing at the affordable art fair in New York, Amsterdam, Brussels, Milan and Hong Kong.
The gallery personnel have many years of experience in Cambridge and can understand and respond to the needs of this very special market. We have a varied collection of original art for sale, in terms of scale, medium and price, which we would be delighted to show you.
