Art, One Window to the World AKARTASIA it is in one unique position to present Oriental Art as rarely seen in the West. We work exclusively with artists who are resident in China, Vietnam and Japan so they represent their local work in a truly genuine way. There is a visible distinction in the art from artists who remain within their original region, customs and values and the ones who have been influenced by external factors, mostly western culture so prevalent in the global era . This line is very sensitive and we have witnessed how this transformation takes place in cosmopolitan areas versus the more remote regions. Despite the modern and technological era, I believe we all have a responsibility to preserve local traditional art forms. This is a legacy that must be preserved for the future generations. Art has this transcendental power to cross national borders. To be able to admire a piece of art from a foreign culture is often a very rewarding and enriching experience. It is like taking a ride on a road less travelled. A moment that we can be exposed to a greater universe beyond our own boundaries. We are fortunate to be involved with well-known artists but mostly emerging ones that hardly have a chance to present their talent beyond their local areas and some without access to a computer or the internet.
This commitment is absolutely in the core of our endeavour that we are confident it will be appreciated by our friends and visitors. Akartasia is wholly devoted to present this exclusive niche view of art that despite the cultural differences and geographical distances we are privileged to be able to bridge and admire through this unique Window to the World. We all need to look beyond our borders, beyond our screens, beyond our windows, with an open heart, mind and spirit. Serge Waismann AKARTASIA
