Oliver Lädndorf is our expert Germany Fair Director, who joined us in 2011 with a wealth of experience in film, photography and arts management. His passion is local contemporary art and he is an avid collector of emerging artists from Hamburg. We’re so excited by what he brings to the Hamburg edition. Over to Oliver!
Affordable Art Fair celebrated its first Hamburg edition back in 2012 and, eleven years on, I’m very happy that we will be presenting again in 2023 from 9 – 12 November. We’ll be welcoming 85 international, national and local galleries to join 1,000s of collectors and art lovers. The participating galleries will be announced in July.
“This year, we celebrate the 11th edition of our Emerging Artists section, which strives to give unrepresented artists a curated platform to present their art. Most of them are recent graduates from the HFBK Hamburg.“
We also offer free guided tours every day at 3pm and a guided tour with the topic ‘Emerging Artists 2023’ and ‘Art under 500€’, which will be held by myself and my colleague and Fair Manager, Hannah Weber-Heidenfels. On Saturday at 3pm, joined by Dr. Anna Schwan, Kolja Reichert, former art critic of FAZ and now program curator at Bundeskunsthalle, will be talking about his new book “Kann ich das auch?”, which aims to explain art in a very simple way.
And, as no fair would be complete without festivities, we will be open on Thursday 9 November until 10pm with our Late View. You are all welcome to come and enjoy the fair to discover art works with a glass of wine!
