We’re excited to welcome @doostartgallery to debut at this year’s fair. Founded in Tehran in 2022, Doost Art is a contemporary art space which expanded by opening a second gallery space in Amsterdam in 2023. Their mission is clear: to showcase contemporary art by emerging and established artists, primarily from Iran.
Zahra Rezadoost, Alireza Jahromidoost, Leyla Khorshid Doost and Faezh Hammami are just a few of the artists whose work will be exhibited on Doost Art’s stand during the fair in February. The gallery’s presentation will predominantly showcase abstract and figurative paintings and drawings by Iranian artists.

Jane Thompson is an Australian artist who works predominantly with acrylics, wax pastels, oil sticks, and graphite. She enjoys working with fast-drying materials as they allow her to capture the energy and freedom of the spontaneous moment. Preferring to paint without rules, boundaries, expectations, or a plan, the end result is always a complete surprise to the artist. Through her brisk approach, deliberate use of contrast, and expressive gestural marks, her paintings are imaginative, expressive and spontaneous.

Artist Juan Escudero states: "The basic idea for drawing is not to represent something but to activate a process. A drawing is like a musical improvisation, an automatic writing, clear traffic for the present without correcting anything. Then the stamping processes would be the movement, the dynamic time that crosses the plate with its wealth of life."

Working with sketches and digital media, Sally Burch builds up a series of simplified references, motifs and colours, that she converts into her own pictorial language of pattern, form and pigment. Colour features strongly in her work and she considers herself a colourist. She is interested in the story of colour in art, the use of colour to express feelings and energy and colour as communication. Conceptually, she uses the division of colour in the pictorial space to question power, boundaries and value.
