Entrance Installation
This year we will welcome visitors with an immersive, site-specific installation by Berlin-based artist Christian KERA Hinz, presented by Uhlig Gallery, located directly in front of the main entrance. Known for his geometric and abstract visual language, KERA works at the intersection of painting, architecture, and spatial perception.
For Pool Painting, the artist transforms a large-scale painted surface into a shallow water basin, inviting viewers to experience colour, form, reflection and movement in an unexpected way. As the painted composition meets the water’s surface, straight lines begin to shift, refract and ripple — creating a calm yet dynamic moment of perception and participation.
We can’t wait to welcome you to step into this shared experience right at the entrance of the fair!
To learn more about the installation, join our Installation Artist Tour on Friday, 17 April from 4–6pm, or on Saturday and Sunday from 11am–12pm and 1–3pm.
This project is supported by URBAN NATION, an initiative of Stiftung Berliner Leben.
Collectors' Talk
Join our free Collectors Talk “How to Start Collecting Art” on Saturday 18 April at 3pm at the Coffee Bar and listen to Dr. Anna Schwan in conversation with gallerist Steve Uhlig (Uhlig Gallery), collector & patron Rene Spiegelberger of PArt.foundation Initiative and our Fair Director Oliver Lähndorf.
You will gain practical tips and fresh perspectives on current trends and developments of the art market as well as some starting-tips on collecting art.
Late View
No fair would be complete without festivities! On Friday 17 April we will be open until 10pm with our Late View. Come along to enjoy a glass of wine, listen to the beats of DJ Levente and relax while browsing this year’s exhibition. This is the best time to visit the fair if you want to avoid prams and the weekend rush.
And as an extra special this year the first guests will receive a free pink drink – so arrive early to make sure you don’t miss out – first come, first serve!
Sculpture area
As an extra special this year, you have the chance to discover 15 different sculptures at our Sculpture Area. The presentation brings together a wide range of contemporary artworks, creating a dialogue between materiality, form, and context – offering a moment of pause and perspective within the vibrant energy of the fair.
Participating galleries are 94/97 Gallery, Anquins Art Gallery, ar-gallery, De Galerie Den Haag, Espai Cavallers Gallery, EXITARTAMSTERDAM, Galeria Rodrigo Juarranz, Galerie feinart berlin, Galerie Sievi, Naghyazi Contemporary, Pigment Gallery and The Lane Art Gallery.
INTERACTIVE MURAL – FOR KIDS
Right opposite our wardrobe you’ll find our new ‘Interactive Mural’, where kids and their families can get creative themselves and discover their own expression inspired by the works around them.
Paint the upper squares to see how colours shift and transform depending on the tones that surround them, and create your very own homage to Josef Albers’ Homage to the Square. Albers created nearly 2,000 works within this series — and in 1971, they were the subject of the first solo exhibition dedicated to a living artist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Alongside the Kids Mural, there will also be a children’s guided tour on Saturday and Sunday through the Interactive Pool Installation starting at 11:00, offering a playful way to explore the work up close.
Start your own Collection Wall
We understand that stepping into the art-buying arena can be thrilling and even a little overwhelming. But don’t worry, we prepared a guide to help you through your journey of discovering and buying art at Affordable Art Fair Berlin and to help you to start your own collection.
Emerging Artists
Since 2012, the Emerging Artists exhibitions at our German Affordable Art Fairs have given a curated platform to new talents.
Looking back at the last 12 years, the visibility generated by the Emerging Artists exhibitions has been integral in supporting and pushing artist’s careers within the difficult starting conditions of the art world.
The Emerging Artists Berlin 2026 exhibition will be curated by Fair Manager Hannah Weber-Heidenfels, showing the conceptual works of the three artists Bella Bram, Özcan Ertek and Solveig Schmid, who are all Berlin-based and have graduated within the last few years.
Under the topic ‘Resonante Zustände – Körper, Material und Wahrnehmung im Übergang’, the exhibition brings together three artistic positions, which explore transitions between body, space, material, and perception. The artworks operate in states of in-between: between object and environment, sound and silence, intuition and construction.
Emerging Artist Performance
As part of the exhibition, artist Özcan Ertek will present the interactive performance Future Visioning: AI Turkish Coffee Reading. Turkish coffee, known as türk kahvesi, holds immense significance in Turkish culture. In this participatory installation, Ertek combines the traditional practice of Turkish coffee reading with AI technology, inviting visitors to reflect on the dynamics of trust, intuition and the evolving role of artificial intelligence.
Participants are invited to choose whether they place their trust in a human or an AI system, shaping how their coffee reading unfolds. Blending traditional practice with algorithmic interpretation, the work opens a playful space to reflect on intuition, technology and the role of AI in imagining possible futures.
Future Visioning: AI Turkish Coffee Reading will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1–3pm and 4–6pm within the Emerging Artist Exhibition.
