Here at Affordable Art Fair, we’ve unanimously decided that there’s nothing better than introducing the world to a new artist. The only thing that we might love more is the feeling of watching that artist’s career really take off.
Over the years, we’ve had the enormous privilege of working with 1,000s of emerging artists and being part of their journey to success. But, you should take some of the credit too! When you visit and purchase art at an Affordable Art Fair, you’re supporting an independent, living artist, helping to further their career and put more of their spectacular, important art into the world.
To show how much your support means, and the places it can take our artists, we’ve been busy reminiscing on some of our favourite artist success stories from around the globe. Introducing our brand new series: Extraordinary Art Stories.
A word from Will…
Introducing: The artists
Jana Schumacher
Jana was one of our emerging artists at Affordable Art Fair Hamburg in 2022. Some of her major works were sold during the preview AND she found gallery representation!
Her work is currently on display in an amazing science-meets-art exhibition at the Museum of Work in Hamburg. Jana interrogates the powerful connection between art, science, religion and the exploration of chaos.
Joe Blundell
Originally hailing from the UK, Joe Blundell now calls Melbourne, Australia home. From working in a corporate role to becoming a full-time artist, we caught up with Joe to hear more about his unique journey to rediscovering his love for painting.
Joe’s beautiful landscapes evoke a sense of komorebi – the Japanese word for sunlight filtering through trees. Striking a skillful balance between urbanity and nature, it’s no surprise why he’s so popular at our Australian fairs.
Asaf Kliger
Photographer, Asaf Kliger exhibited at our Stockholm and Amsterdam fairs in 2022. Asaf has worked in some fairly extreme conditions such as -25°C in Swedish Lapland and a remote camel farm in Israel!
Asaf opened a gallery in Lund, Sweden during the pandemic followed by a second gallery at the infamous Icehotel in northern Sweden, where he’s also the official photographer. We’re obsessed with his chilly daily routine!
Will’s picks
In 1999, our Founder and CEO, Will Ramsay established the first Affordable Art Fair in London’s Battersea Park.
Since then, fairs now take place in 11 cities around the world. By placing living artists and independent galleries at our heart, Affordable Art Fair has helped support the careers of over 40,000 living artists.
We caught up with Will in London to grill him on some of his favourite artist success stories…
