Trevor Waugh was born in 1952 and grew up in London. He studied at The Slade School of Fine Art from 1970 -1974 (BA) under the guidance of Sir William Coldstream, Professor of the Slade at the time, Patrick George, Philip Sutton, David Hockney, Euan Uglow and Bernard Cohen. He also obtained a distinction for his post-graduate certificate in illustration when he studied with Ernest Jones at Croydon College of Art from 1978 - 1979.
He went on to work successfully as a freelance illustrator for nine years for most of the major publishers including Penguin, Heinemann, Cassell, Collins and the BBC. He returned to fine art in 1988 and began travelling extensively across the globe. Waugh currently paints and exhibits at his Studio in Heywood, Wiltshire, UK. He also runs watercolour and oil painting classes in the UK and abroad.
His book ‘Winning with Watercolour’ became a top-selling title and he followed this with ‘You Can Paint Flowers in Watercolour’ and ‘You Can paint Animals in Watercolour’. His current book ‘The Emirates Through the Eyes of an Artist’, Watercolour Journals of The Emirates was acquired by HSBC in celebration of their 60-year anniversary in The Emirates and Trevor became Artist of the Year, Middle East.
Trevor Waugh has recently returned from an exhibition at The Dubai International Finance Centre in affiliation with Mawaheb, which is a charity raising funds for artists with special needs.
