Tom Sullam began his professional career as a photographer in 2005, and quickly developed his own signature landscape style. He won the prestigious Fuji Photographer of the Year award in 2006, along with the One Vision Prize in 2007. At a commercial level, Tom has worked for some of the best-known interior designers and developers, based between his London office and his current residence in Tanzania. He also runs photography workshops in the UK and the US, working alongside celebrated landscape photographer Hasselblad Master Charlie Waite.
Tom’s eye for the striking image and fine detail has allowed him to create powerful and recognisable images. His commercial work has appeared in numerous publications, such as the FT’s How to Spend it, House & Garden and Elle Décor. Tom moved to Tanzania with his family, in 2013, where the stunning African landscapes have provided yet more artistic inspiration. The enormity and sheer breadth of photographic opportunities, combined with the colours, textures, sounds, and smells of this East African country proved too much to capture in a single image. Instead, Tom used a combination of multiple exposures and layering techniques to capture his experiences on one single print.
His work has been bought and commissioned in many countries, where both private collectors and commercial clients have invested in his limited editions. Tom's work hangs in some of the most prestigious homes in the UK and the rest of the world, and he continues to travel regularly to keep his collection fresh and innovative.
