Theo Platt was born to artist parents, both graduates of the Royal College of Art. Theo attended St Martin’s School of Art during its key painterly period of the early eighties. It was here that he developed the two branches of his passion for oil painting: portraiture, from which he has had a long and distinguished career, and his Oceans Series of works, which have evolved continuously since his first two large pieces were shown and sold in his degree show.
Theo works from life with a realist but extremely fluid technique. Commissions include: Sir Jackie Stewart for The Scottish National Portrait Gallery, members of the Cabinet including the Deputy Prime Minister, the Lord Chancellor, the Chief of Defence Staff and members of the Royal Family.
