Since 2010, Sopho has been living and working in London perfecting her unique style and focusing more on the relationships between surroundings and the figures within them. Having her work displayed in galleries, museums and exhibitions worldwide has gathered the interest of acclaimed collectors and art lovers alike. Her body of work is forever evolving; it is renowned and admired which creates an immense buzz when each painting has been completed.
Sopho Chkhikvadze’s work has a unique character, evoking a wide range of emotions. She predominantly paints portraits and figures with a great sense of honest humour. Her stunning studies of obscure life situations are as if she has invited you to gaze on her personal photo album, capturing melancholia so vibrantly by placing her figures in vast landscapes such as the ocean or an inner city playground backed by large tower blocks. Sopho studied art at the Nikoladze Art College, before going on to complete a Masters degree at the Tbilisi State Academy of Art which inspired her to go on and create her spectacular conversation pieces.
