Ralf Schira is a prolific trained sculptor and stone mason who lives in Baden-Baden, Germany.
His sculptures and objects are particularly eye-catching. Ralf Schira starts from basic forms and transforms them through his gaze and gifted hand. He thus creates new, sensual structures, that expand powerfully and dynamically in the room, with the new synthetic materials, polyurethane and GFK, which are seemingly unlimited in their formability and surface design.
"Although my objects are based on seemingly familiar, constructivist starting forms, I form and 'entangle' them in new formal contexts. I try to reassess and rediscover supposedly familiar objects in the world".
