Originally from Liverpool, Paul Coventry Brown is, by in large, a self taught artist. He spent seventeen years in Japan before moving to France to become a full time artist.
Both the Japanese and French influence can be felt in Paul's work. His still-life paintings, with their play of light, recall Chardin's work whilst the minimalism of the display references the minimalism trend in Japan.
The precision and quality of Paul's paintings really set him apart from his contemporaries making his piece timeless.
