Ollie Le Brocq is an oil painter, based in Suffolk, UK. Through still life in particular, he explores various rendering techniques, incorporating a degree of abstraction or disintegration, in a conscious effort to bring life to inanimate objects. He takes everyday objects that may be considered boring or insignificant, and tries to capture an ephemeral moment of interest, a briefly glimpsed moment of beauty and excitement.
He adopts an approach that conveys a sense of life, vibrancy and the essence of the subject. Through critical observation, he strives to convey a sense of light and the effect it has on the subject, in all its temporal nature of shifting tone and colour.
Ollie Le Brocq currently works from his studio on the Heritage coast, in Suffolk, UK.
