Nataliya was born in 1984 in Khmelnytsky, Ukraine. She graduated from Lviv Academy of Art in 2008 majoring in icon art; lives and works in Lviv, Ukraine.
Nataliya regularly takes part in exhibitions in Austria and Poland. Her moto is to make this world a bit kinder. She admits that the icon holds something unknown; for her it is a process of interpreting stories she read and experienced. Everything around inspires her to paint.
Her works feature both simplicity and depth; these qualities are very easy to imitate in icon art but extremely difficult to achieve their sincere and direct representation. She has a very distinctive and unique visual language - pastel light colours, thin and tender lines - that cannot be confused with other painters.
Natalia uses egg tempera: mix of yolk and vinegar with a colour pigment added. This ancient technique has proven to last for centuries not to mention it is very eco-friendly.
Her works were presented in UK at AAF Bristol for the first time last year.
