I draw my inspiration from my childhood memories: familiar faces, travel locations, special atmospheres, simple and banal objects, which all have distinctive importance to me.
Nadejda Pastoukhova works with the old technique of encaustic painting on canvas, reminiscent of the texture of frescos, with a matte surface finish. The technique allows her to create a monochrome atmosphere, a slight blur around the subjects of her compositions. She holds a particular interest in simple subjects, free of the superfluous, and tries to communicate a state of serenity and calmness.Show more Show Less
