"I begin by arranging an assortment of objects which I draw and then start to simplify and pare down. I then begin to paint, using line, flat planes, interlocking shapes and colours to achieve a united and harmonious form."
Reminiscent of early-20th-century art movements, Marcus Bolt's still life compositions blend the painterly-style and rich colours of fauvism with the analytical, geometric shapes characterised in cubism. Marcus Bolt studied Graphic Design at Maidstone College of Art (University of Kent) and worked as a designer and lecturer but always painting and drawing in his spare time. Now retired, he practises full-time.Show more Show Less
