MA Wei (b 1987) moved to Japan at an early age with her family—her mother is a famous Children litterateur in China, where her father is a teacher of Waseda University in Japan. Ma moved back to Beijing at her early teens, and since she was very attached to art since she was very young; in 2003, she studied at a fine arts school affiliated to the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 2011, she was graduated from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Mural Department. After her graduation, she travelled to the States and stayed for 2 years to explore the culture of the western world. Ma had hold solo shows in USA, HK and Beijing. Now lives and works in Beijing.
